Kids First Class
At TAP BJJ Academy, Our curriculum is developed by world champion black belts Thalys and Abbi Pontes, in collaboration with Dr. Elisa Kusano, PhD (ABA), QBA. Together, we’ve crafted an attentive coaching style with an expert plan, and clear step-by-step progression to help your children learn to listen, focus, solve problems, handle challenges, respect others, and believe in themselves.

What ages do you teach?
Our classes follow a methodical, step-by-step approach that welcomes kids starting at age 3. — Our Adult Level 1 class welcomes adults up to age 60.

We provide kids and adults Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, women's only programs, no-gi and combat classes, as well as private training to suit various needs, goals, and schedules.
Are there classes for beginners?
Absolutely! Our academy is beginner-friendly with programs specifically designed to introduce new members to Jiu-Jitsu step by step.
Do I need prior training experience?
Nope! Our academy welcomes beginners with open arms. If you already have martial arts experience, you’re welcome too! — We have multiple class levels to meet you where you are physically, technically, and mentally.
How do I get started?
For kids: Contact us to book your free private training session! This one-on-one class with an experienced coach will assess your child and help place them in the best group class for them. For adults: Schedule a free trial session to experience the academy for yourself.
Can I try a class before joining?
Yes, we offer free trial sessions to help you experience our family environment, meet our professors, receive expert guidance, and see that we keep everything clean and organized. We can guarantee TAP Academy is the best place to train Jiu-Jitsu in Rock Hill and the surrounding areas.
How often should I train?
Training frequency can vary based on your goals and schedule. Our coaches can help you create a training plan that fits your needs.
What community events do you host?
We host several events such as group hikes, summer camps, bring a friend days, potlucks, in-house tournaments, and belt promotions to build community and connect with our members outside regular classes.
